Family Homes Zaharias started its operation in 1983. Zaharias Katikas, furniture maker to the profession, from the beginning put his own touch to the tendered hospitality, for which Crete is known. The guests every evening joint family and all became one company enjoying raki, wine and cretan dishes until the early hours.

Chrisoula Katika, hairdresser to the profession, embraced the idea from the first moment and made ​​sure all guests to stay happy and satisfied while she was working and raising her children. As she admits her best memories arise from the yard of Family Homes Zaharias.

Manos Katikas studied economics at the University of Athens. He stayed in Athens until 2001 when he returned to Rethimno. He currently works as a stockbroker and in his spare time he is involved with the family business. He is married to Maria Pathiakis and a father of a girl and a boy.

George Katikas studied economics at Athens University and worked until 2011 as a financial journalist in television stations, newspapers and news websites. He returned to Rethimno in 2012 so as to deal more actively with the family business. He is married to Alexandra Rouka and a father of twe girls.
